What is LINC?
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada, or LINC, is a program
funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, which offers free
language training across the country for permanent residents.
LINC facilitates the integration of immigrants into Canadian culture
and society by providing basic language training based on themes.
It includes social, cultural and economic information. Students
will learn basic and advanced topics related to Canada and the Canadian
way of life, while learning English at the same time.
The purpose of the LINC program is to help newcomers become participating members of Canadian society as soon as possible.
Childminding
We offer free childminding for children of our LINC students. Please
note that we only have a limited number of spaces available, on
a first-come, first-served basis.
Childminding starts at the age of six (6) months at our Oshawa and
Pickering LINC sites and eighteen (18) months of age in our Whitby
and Ajax sites.
Please register your children as soon as possible and do not miss
this great opportunity for them to learn English, have lots of fun,
and make many wonderful new friends from around the world!
Transportation
Transportation assistance is available to those who qualify.
